I'm looking to change the default port of monerod for rpc, but i wasn't sure is there a .monerod hidden config file I can put in my home folder to make the settings? And what other usefule settings are there? I want to make a public node so I can connect my monerujo wallet to it.

You can create one in ~/.bitmonero/bitmonero.conf and add any of the options used on daemon startup.

  • do you have an example file to base one off of? – Patoshi パトシ Jul 25 '18 at 15:44
  • Just run monerod --help and put whatever options you like in it (without the -- at the begining and an = then value). It's just to save running monerod with command line options every time (if you are using various options). E.g. fluffy-blocks=true – jtgrassie Jul 25 '18 at 16:22
  • what is a generic .bitmonero.conf file to create a public node ? I'm not sure what settings I need. – Patoshi パトシ Jul 25 '18 at 16:36
  • You don't need a conf file, it's just there as an option if you want to customize the default settings. – jtgrassie Jul 25 '18 at 18:31
