"Please check your wallet and daemon log for errors. You can also try to start monerod.exe manually. "

I just downloaded the new gui and this is the message I get. I then go to find monerod and its not in the directory. I go to the old version and it's in there but I get a virus alert from avast.

For the last year or so I've been needing to go through monerod.exe to access the gui wallet. Is there a way to finally fix this issue so that I can access the gui normally and not go through monerod?

I think part of the issue is that I have a 2 monero-gui-win-x64 v0.11.1.0 folders and the new version, vo.12.0.0

I need some help, thanks in advance.

  • You need to create an exception for the whole GUI v0.12 folder. In addition, you have to take the files that were quarantined out of quarantine and put them back in the original folder. – dEBRUYNE May 23 '18 at 8:53
  • I use avast, so go into avast and do this? I'll try this tonight. – user7672 May 23 '18 at 11:47
  • That's correct. – dEBRUYNE May 23 '18 at 19:15
