Inexperienced user of Monero. I had monero-wallet-gui working like a charm, and then every transaction sent would fail. I realized this was likely due to block chain syncing because I did not know it was a problem to Force Quit etc.

I deleted a data file and started up monerod. It's at 62% sync, but looks like it could take an entire day. If I exit and open GUI, it syncs up and just resets sync again. I tried renaming wallet name, and it syncs up again then resets again. All transactions failing. Money always shows up fine after it finishes all the way syncing. But still it will reset again and transactions never work.

  • Depending on your internet connection speed, hard drive, CPU and location, taking a day to sync the full blockchain is not to be concerned with. If you need to use before fully synced, you can use bootstrap mode. Alternatively, patience. – jtgrassie Dec 9 '20 at 13:58
